The Power of Friendship – A Key to Triumph

February is the month we celebrate love, friendship, and connection—a time to reflect on the people who surround us and the role they play in our journey to triumph.

One of my favorite quotes by Jim Rohn says:
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

This simple yet profound truth reminds us that the energy, mindset, and growth in our lives are often shaped by the people we choose to keep close. This is at the heart of Step Seven of the Triumph Steps framework: Surround Yourself with People Who Bring You Joy and Help You Grow.

We all have friendships that lift us, inspire us, and push us toward becoming our best selves. These relationships fuel our dreams, support us through challenges, and remind us of our greatness. But we must also recognize that not all relationships serve us well—some may hold us back, drain our energy, or keep us from reaching our full potential. As difficult as it may be, distancing ourselves from those who no longer align with our growth is sometimes necessary to step fully into our path to triumph.

This past month, I was reminded of the power of meaningful connections as I celebrated my birthday in my happy place—Key Largo. Surrounded by amazing friends, deep conversations, laughter, and unforgettable moments, I felt an immense sense of gratitude for the people who make life richer and more beautiful. To those who were part of these special moments—thank you! Your presence, kindness, and love made my birthday month truly extraordinary.

As you move through this month of love and connection, I invite you to reflect on your own circle. Ask yourself:
• Who are the five people I spend the most time with?
• Do they inspire me, challenge me, and help me grow?
• Am I surrounding myself with joy, encouragement, and positivity?

Choosing to build relationships with those who uplift, empower, and support your growth is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. And in turn, becoming that person for others is just as important.

Here’s to a life filled with friendships that bring joy, love, and expansion. May we always surround ourselves with people who help us rise, dream, and triumph.

With gratitude,

Beatriz
